Pet Surgery

Elmhurst Animal Care Center pet surgery area

Our surgical capabilities, like our diagnostics and medicine, are constantly expanding and improving as new techniques, procedures, and treatments are discovered. The new surgical suite was designed with your pets safety and comfort as the main priority. It is equipped with a heated surgical table, new anesthesia administration and monitoring equipment, electrocautery, suction, and the latest tool, a CO2 surgical laser.

We offer standard elective surgeries by appointment such as neuters, spays, dewclaw removal, and feline declawing. We are also equipped to handle those more unexpected surgeries, such as foreign body removal, bladder stone removal, wound repair, mass removal and biopsy, as well as many others.

The latest addition to our surgical service, the CO2 Laser, has been especially helpful in the area of pain management. Laser surgery has been shown to decrease post operative discomfort and bleeding. This is most evident in feline declawing where we have seen our patients benefit dramatically.
